I must admit that I was slightly put off by the fact that Homing described itself as a ‘Holiday Park’ – I had visions of organised activities and a campsite equivalent of Butlins. Thankfully, it’s not like that at all! The static caravans are completely separate to the camping area but all are welcome to make use of the facilities such as a bar/restaurant, laundry, small swimming pool, tennis court, five-a-side pitch and children’s playground.
A relaxed campsite located on a working farm close to the sandy beaches at the Witterings, the South Downs and Chichester. This is a traditional site with an environmental conscience. If you want to stay in a relaxed and ‘real’ environment and don’t have overly high expectations of luxury or privacy, then you’ll enjoy your stay at Stubcroft Farm.
A picturesque and peaceful setting for our first campervanning trip. Nestled on a hillside close to Lyme Regis in Dorset, Hook Farm is a pretty campsite in a rural area within walking distance of the town and Dorset’s Jurassic coastline. It’s a quiet site (no large groups), ideal for couples and families. Most breeds of dog are welcome. The pitches are relatively private thanks to the natural screening and terraced landscape.
As we arrived quite late in the evening, by the time we had made dinner, it was starting to get dark and so we ambled down to the beach, which is just next to the site and sat there until it got properly dark before retiring to the van with a bottle of wine. The site was quiet by 10pm in accordance with the rules and we didn’t hear anything until the next morning when we had time for a quick paddle after our bacon butties, before leaving the site
